nice find! the pattern combined with the motion of the waves is great.
It looks like some sort of pier, perhaps. Anyway, I agree with everyone else, it's a very strong element in the composition. It's rock-solidness contrasts well with the flowing water.

I don't know what this is either. I do know the lines it creates are awesome. I like how the top edge of the thing matches up with the top of the image. It pulls me into the picture. Great find, whatever it is!
